From June 17th to 21st, 7 restaurants in Brussels entrusted their kitchens to refugee chefs for a unique and delicious experience. Four hands menus or carte blanche: this cooking collaboration allowed more than 800 people to discover flavors from elsewhere. Talented refugee chefs were able to introduce their cultural and culinary heritage to the guests around the table, a place of universal peace and equality.
JUNE 17th – Brunch
This cosy restaurant welcomed Omar & Shahla Alshawi for a delicious Syrian brunch. For the occasion, Syrian chefs were able to introduce their food specialties: salads, mezze and other amazing recipes.
JUNE 19th and 21st – Lunch & Dinner
Le Mess welcomed Majid Akbari, Iranian chef, on June 19th and 21st for unique lunches and dinners! Guests were able to discover a fine and tasty cuisine and unknown Iranian specialties.
JUNE 20th – Dinner
For the Refugee Food Festival, and on this World Refugee Day, Le Local welcomed Munir Zaitouni. They realised a delicious collaboration for an amazing Syrian menu.
JUNE 21st – Closing Party
This cosy bar and restaurant welcomed Elias Edlbi for a special mixology evening that will make you travel! Elias realised amazing cocktails with Syrian flavours and spices! A true discovery, for some original and delicious cocktails.
For Brussels edition closing party, Elias Eldbi, Syrian mixologist, did prowess at Chez Richard, for an event with Syrian accents. Amazing cocktails with Syrian spices made the participants travel!
Raphaël, Julie, Sarah and Anne-Claire organised the Refugee Food Festival in Brussels this year.

This year, more than a dozen of our favorite Brussels addresses have opened their kitchens to refugee chefs, for an ever more tasty and solidarity edition!
